Pay to Stay Away

Pay to Stay Away

This week, the guys chat about table repair, heating garages, and patching walls. The guys also recall Adam’s experiences with Buddhism, and Ray tries to guess everyone’s weight.

Show Summary

The show opens with Adam and Ray making fun of Gary Half-Tard’s shoes. The guys also discuss a surprise drop-in from Ozzie, and Adam rants about people you would pay to not show up to work. They also respond to a video question about repairing cracked plaster, and emails about patching holes and heating garages. Later they chat with a bunch of callers about repairing a table, replacing a handrail, and finding an alternative to adjustable shelves. As the show wraps up, the guys discuss joint compound and corner beading, and Ray tries to guess everyone’s weight.

I got it on! This goes out to patio Pete who called in about the patio table. I used to work at a glass shop and have a lot of experience ordering replacement glass patio tops. The good news is they do have some stock sizes for circles and squares. The class is usually obscure (not clear) with a 2″ hole drilled in it and tempered. If your table is not a custom size you’re probably looking at over $200. If it’s an extremely large table or an odd shape you’re looking at over $300. If the its not a stock size It’s usually cheaper and easier to buy a new table. You can pick one up with out the chairs for under $150. When you go to the local glass shop, take the table! If you try to make a pattern yourself you’re going to make it improperly and have to go back and get the table anyway. When you clean up all the glass make sure you save all the clips! Without these its hard to put the new class back in safely.
