You Sleep The Way You Live

You Sleep The Way You Live

Adam and Ray discuss the death of a former teacher and reflect on all the guys who were a-holes just because they could be. They also discuss suspended floors, insulating a house from the 1800s, and refinishing a concrete floor.

Show Summary

Adam opens the show talking with Ray about STDs and how close he came to contracting one just by sharing a bed with his friend. They also talk about dudes who can sleep anywhere, and why all the other kids had it better growing up. Later they reflect on some of their crappier teachers and Adam talks about being a Science TA. No video or emails this week… just a bunch of calls ranging from shaking suspended floors to non-insulated walls to working with engineered flooring. As the show wraps up, Adam and Ray help a caller trying to grind and refinish their concrete floor.

Teachers Ha. Loved it. The smart kids knew not to complain about the bad teachers. The rest of us knew we had shitty ass teachers. All you have to do is work with teaches outside of their schools and you are soon to realize they have found teaching because, like a lot of other occupations, you can be the boss aka dicks.

the floor problem is due to the cheap thin osb subfloor that bounces when you walk on it. most house built during the decade use that crap. the crap sucks & should be a law against that cheap shit.

Just catching up. Great stuff — I had to push it down.
Anyway, Moment is just another word for bending. Your “moment” fix by bracing is right, since it’s probably just bending, causing it to buckle a lil, and then bouncing back. There’s no “moment frame” there.
Like the guy said above, the floor & framing is too light & shitty. Light floors bounce, shake, and vibrate.
