Gary Will Find A Way

Gary Will Find A Way

Adam and Ray talk about floor installation, building a Mangria rack, and what to do about tunneling creatures in the backyard.

Show Summary

Adam opens the show talking to Ray about his latest projects and making fun of him for being disorganized. They also talk about the ‘weird cashless world’ of the 70’s, and why Ozzie can’t get work. After that, Adam discusses the latest Full-Tard mess-up, and the guys respond to emails about redoing stairs and building a Mangria rack. This week’s calls include floor installation, replacing fiberglass roofing, and what to do about tunneling creatures in the backyard. As the show wraps up, Adam and Ray help a caller fix his squeaky floors.

I legitimately like the intro song. I turn it up when I’m in the car.

    Not embarrassed.

“Takin’ Calls” has proved surprisingly durable. Credit due.

I finally realized it: Ray looks like David Letterman’s younger, fuck-up brother! Sort of like his Roger Clinton to a Bill Clinton.

How do two homebuilders not know about 2 by 6 framed wet walls for plumbing?

6″ wet walls are code in AZ for any plumbing wall. 2″ is the standard vent pipe but you can combine multiple 2″ vent pipes in a 4″ collector that will go through the roof.

Adam the philosopher is not smart or compelling, please keep it to the funny and home improvement. Adam seems like a horrible friend, he needs to turn some of the home spun wisdom on himself. Roll more calls! Adam needs a producer to reign him in.

He not doubt rags on his buddies more than anyone. That being said, he is clearly very loyal to them, using them around his shop, using them to build his shop, using them on his DIY show, lending them money knowing he won’t get it back, paying for their rehab. To say he’s a horrible friend is ludicrous.

Yea I’m surprised they missed that. Way cheaper and faster than pulling back the carpet and it works great. I’ve got one.

Actually, Bradley/Brady/Brandy with the squeaky floors, the guys may have missed something. That diagonal lumber is SUB flooring, just as they themselves said. There’s probably a layer of plywood on top of it that they forgot about, the flooring. That means Brady could screw off the sub flooring to the flooring, from below. That’s probably where the squeaks are. 3/4 in sub flooring and 3/4 in plywood flooring (guess) is 1 1/2 inches to play with, so you would use 1 1/4 inch screws, (MAX!). Good wood screws and don’t bury the heads.

Yeah, they know about 2 x 6 framing, but that’s pretty rare in interior walls, where this guy’s vent pipe was. At least in my experience. They discussed that last episode.

Like the show so much more when Adam isn’t just raggin on Ray to highlight how much better he’s doing than him. Ray, keep up the good work. The Ray on the House episode was one of the best.
