A Hand Up, Not A Handout

    1. Steve Sferrino of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles joins Adam and Ray this week. The guys argue their way through questions about carbide blades, accordion doors and AstroTurf, and also chat about how great it feels to give back to your community.

Show Summary

Adam and Ray are excited to welcome to the show Steve Sferrino of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles. The guys discuss the upcoming Habitat project next week where an entire block is being renovated and beautified. Adam then rants about ways to improve your own neighborhood, as well as pointless PSAs. This week’s video question deals with replacing faucet piping, and there’s also an email about an accordion door leading to a master bathroom. After Just The Tip, the guys wrap up the show taking calls about a complete ground up renovation, using AstroTurf for a pet deck, and how good it feels to volunteer for your community.

In South Dade County, Miami, the Germany or Florida thing doesn’t apply. I live in a great area and it’s changed because of the PEOPLE who came with the Habitat homes. The habitat people may be good but they bring all their cockroach families into our neighborhood to sell crack, rob from the adjacent established communities, and reek havoc in general. Habitat For Humanity ruined my neighborhood and property value.

I have to say, I am impressed with Ray’s contribution to this podcast. Ray has become a better and better broadcaster and seems to understand and when to hold back and when to let loose to work with aceman’s style.

On the other hand, can we please not have half tard grind the podcast to a halt with his fully retained contributions?

Aceman, stop being so insecure and let other ppl like Steve get his construction experience in. You sound like a “celebrity contractor” trying to showcase whatever construction knowledge you have. Stop crapping on other ppl’s construction opinions. BTW, I am not one of those douche bags that think everyone is entitled to their opinion even if they have no experience. But obviously Steve has experience so don’t crap on his point.
